The day before

Saturday, November 17th

7:30 AM - 6 Miles, 40 min (River path)
6 x hard strides on the soccer field (in spikes)

Today was better than yesterday.

The past couple days of rest have been helpful. I know I'm in good shape, so now I just need to get on that starting line feeling good. After this morning's run, I think that should be a better possibility. No matter what the weather is like tomorrow, no matter who show's up for the race, and no matter how my legs feel on the starting line, I am confident that I can do well based on what I've done over the past few months, and and based on my experiences over the past 10 years. I am by no means an expert at this sport, but over those 10 years, I have made steady progressions toward becoming an elite athlete. I am worlds better than when I entered college, I am better than when I left college, and I am better than 3 weeks ago when I last raced. I am confident and I am strong, therefore, I will make tomorrow a good day.

Your self awareness of your ability and your positive attitude are amazing and inspiring. I have enjoyed watching you improve over the past few months in practices. Your performance did not surprise me in the least. I am looking forward to seeing what will come next for you.
