24 min warm up
2 x 5 min @ "tempo" pace, 2 min rest
10 x 1 min @ faster than 5K pace, 1 min rest
16 min cool down
Total = 13 Miles, 76 min
So this was a shorter than usual workout but it was much faster than what we've been doing. The first 5 min interval was really comfortable and probably right at 5:00 pace. The second interval started about the same but ended at closer to 4:40 pace. This could be a combination of both Justin and I pushing the pace but I think Justin did a bit more leading than I did. It was good though; we were both feeling good and just decided to work a little harder than planned. This carried through to the 1 min intervals. They should have been at about 14:30 5K pace and were probably closer to 14:00 pace. It's hard to tell on the dirt and in the dark but we knew we were going faster than the workout stated. Not a big deal, it still felt pretty controlled and since it's a shorter workout, it shouldn't stick around in my legs for too long.
