Things continue to improve with the hip so Kevin and I decided I could jump into a workout tonight with Roland, Maloney, and Mayall. Justin and Mark did 4 sets, Roland did 6. The workout was just to get me back in track rhythm and see how things felt at moderate speeds. It took a couple sets to get comfortable but once I got going, things felt great and each set seemed to get easier than the previous one. Even though this wouldn't be viewed as a hard workout, I was very pleased with it and very thankful that I am back on the rebound and able to train comfortably again.
Even as late as Wednesday morning of this week, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to run today, let alone do a workout. Holly and I had talked about trying pool and bike workouts through the remainder of the week and maybe start running after that. I know my fitness was probably set back a bit with the time off that I had, but I think things will still work out pretty well this season. I am still a strong believer that everything happens for a reason so this "set back" may end up being a blessing in disguise and help things turn out even better in the big picture.
I came home from practice tonight already feeling pretty good about my progress. That was then made even better when I found a very nice email in my inbox. It was an email from a good friend and was filled with many positive and heart felt remarks. This was just a simple email from one friend to another but when combined with everything else, it really made my day. In the last few days, I have been overwhelmed with inspiration and motivation from some pretty cool people in my life and it makes me feel pretty good about where things could be going. I am feeling more ambitious than ever now and can't wait to see what awaits us all in the coming weeks, months, and years!
Thanks!
