Social event with the team

Saturday, September 8th

8:00 AM - 7.5 Miles - 49 min
Lincoln

It was nice to get out to lincoln today. I hadn't been out there in quite a while and forgot how great the trails are. They're a lot softer than the Fells and it feels more like you're in the middle of nowhere, which I personally think is a good feeling... I guess it reminds me more of Maine. Anyway, the whole run felt great and I probably would've run further if I didn't have to work.

After work, I shot over to the team BBQ at the Carrara household and even though I was a few hours late and made it just in time for the rain showers, I had a good time and was able to talk quite a bit with some quality peeps. I know I've talked about how great the talent is on this team but I think the personalities and character of these people is what really makes the team so great. This is why I look forward to workouts every week and how I have so many great stories from team trips and gatherings.

I'll be missing the next couple practices because of work but shouldn't have any more conflicts after this week. I'm psyched about getting into workouts again and getting used to a regular training routine. I'm feeling pretty good these days and am ready to start leaning into the training a little more. Kevin signed off on my season goals and just made a few changes in my mileage plan so now it's time to start making it all happen.

Quote of the day:
"I'm a pretty friendly person, I think, but I hate everyone who's faster than me, so it's important that I train hard in order to maintain my cheerful demeanor."
