The blogger bug

Thursday, October 4th

7:30 PM - Pool running, 45 min - medium effort
Tufts pool
Right soleus tightened up in the end so I kept it short.

I'd like to welcome another new blogger to the bunch, my best friend and rival for life, Paul Rupprecht. Paul and I were the only two freshman on the cross country team at UMaine when we started our collegiate careers, and from the beginning, we were always very competitive with each other. Through college we made everything a competition ...running, riding green bikes across campus, drinking pineapple juice, Dr. Mario, now blogging... you name it. I think that competitive rivalry is what helps us succeed both in running and in life. Even when we're 3000 miles apart, we're pushing each other to go further than either of us have ever gone before. No matter what the event is, we're not gonna let the other win ...however, whatever the outcome, we are always 100% supportive of each other in our accomplishments. I want the best results for him and he wants the same for me. Paul currently runs with VS Athletics in Santa Monica, CA and is basically the west coast version of me right now. He's chasing after his dreams and even though he's struggling and has had some low points recently, I know he'll keep pushing forward and accomplish some great things. It may not be tomorrow, or next month, or even next year, but I know he'll achieve greatness. So my hat goes off to him and he will always be someone I aspire to be like.

Now we just gotta drag Driscoll and Gwyther into the mix. Let's start workin' on 'em.
